Following the Brussels Smart City for Culture event, a team of the Brussels Capital Region, led by Secretary of State Ms Bianca Debaets, paid a study visit to La Villette and Sevran on the outskirts of Paris, on 14 March, in order to learn more about the digital project ‘Micro-Folie’.

Two modules were set up, the Digital Museum and the FabLab space, so as to offer members of the public a place for meeting and cultural discoveries.

The Digital Museum is a unique art gallery bringing together masterpieces from nine national institutions and museums that can be viewed digitally (tablets, giant screens, 3D projections, etc.). By means of a connected card, members of the public can download the contents to prolong their visit and gain privileged access to the partner establishments.

This initiative provides access to culture for everyone and increases awareness about the world of art among those furthest removed from it. Micro-Folie was designed to bring culture closer to people, and especially young people, combine local initiatives and offer everyone the opportunity to express their talent.
