The final UrbIS Users Club of the year took place last Thursday.

Various speakers addressed a full room one by one, presenting their projects on six topics.

First of all, Mr Jean Marc Frécourt, Consultant-General and Director of the measurements and photogrammetry centre at the Federal Public Department of Finances (Heritage Documentation), spoke to us about the INSPIRE working group and directive, the main aim of which is to establish an authentic source for the administrative units.

Following an introduction by Mr Karl Determe that attracted a great deal of attention, Mr Ruben Capelle described the working tools and methods put in place at Brussels Mobility to manage spatial data and in particular the MobiGIS platform.

A representative of the National Geographic Institute of Belgium then explained the constraints linked to masking military infrastructures for cartographic production in Belgium.

After a well-earned break, Mr Christophe Cloquet explained the ICMS (Federal Incident & Crisis Management System) and described the cartographic aspects of crisis planning and management.

Ms Elise Beke from the Hydroinformatics department at Brussels Environment then set out the technical specifications for the survey of the hydrographic network in the Brussels-Capital Region.

Finally, various members of the BRIC presented the UrbIS news, including the introduction of the Best Address register, cadastralisation, the 2016 flight deliverables, the users survey, topographical land surveys, the 2016Q3 and 2016Q4 distributions,  the evolution of 3D, masking military infrastructures, etc.

So this last Users Club of the year had a full agenda!
