On 19 and 20 January 2016, the BRIC presented the objectives of the Brussels-Capital Region in the context of the European bIoTope project (building an Internet of Things Open innovation ecosystem for connected smart objects) in Helsinki (Finland). This project aims to interconnect smart object platforms in order to offer citizens new ‘smart’ services.

The objectives presented here concern improved mobility for the emergency services and safe mobility close to schools and for cyclists.

The Brussels-Capital Region is a partner in this project alongside Helsinki and Lyon. This partnership is part of the Smart City strategy being implemented by the BRIC for the Brussels-Capital Region.
