The BRIC is joining forces with the Café Numérique Bruxelles for an evening on the subject of “Police and social media”.

The public authorities have entered the reality of the world 2.0. The development of the internet, followed by the social media, has changed not only the whole relationship with the general public, but also the actual work of the administrations.

The Café numérique to be held on 11 February 2015 aims to show how the police services have taken up the social media and integrated them into the way they carry out their missions. What strategies are being put in place to provide content, ensure effective surveillance, respond to questions from the public, etc.

To discuss all this, the Café numérique and the BRIC will be welcoming:

  • Sandra De Tandt, POLBRU Twitter account manager;
  • Pascal Renes, Local Police Permanent Commission, Deputy Secretary;
  • Nicolas Vanderbiest, author of a thesis on e-reputation, who will cast a transdisciplinary expert’s eye over the subject.
