Once Only

On 6 December, Easybrussels organised a seminar on authentic sources and the Once Only principle.

The Once Only principle highlights the interest of single data collection aimed at administrative simplification.

Both the general public and the authorities are keen to see an improvement in communication between the administrations, in particular with regard to data sharing.

Various speakers put forward their points of view and their recommendations for the future.

After an introduction by Xavier Lepoivre (Director of the Office of the Secretary of State in charge of administrative simplification, Fadila Laanan) highlighting the advantages of smooth knowledge exchange among Brussels authorities, Cathy Marcus (Director of Easybrussels) followed by stressing that Easybrussels has asked the new municipal colleges to create an office for administrative simplification.
Several speakers then looked at the Once Only issue in all its aspects: legal implications, the European context framework, the quest for efficiency, developed and future tools, customer satisfaction, etc.
The seminar closed with a presentation by our colleague François Du Mortier, e-Government Manager at the Brussels Regional Informatics Centre (BRIC), and Brahim Ammar Khodja, project leader at Easybrussels. They explained the working of the Fidus service integrator and presented the Once Only draft ordinance aimed at the obligatory exchange of available data by administrations.
