You may already have heard mention of GDPR in the media, and this is only the beginning.

GDPR stands for General Data Protection Regulation. This is a European regulation that will be in force from 25 May 2018 in a uniform manner throughout the European Union.

This regulation establishes a new framework for the protection and exchange of personal data. It will therefore replace the old European legislation from 1995 and the Belgian law of 1992 on the protection of privacy. And it is not only private companies that are affected, but also public services.

The CIRB has developed a complete GDPR service in 5 sections to which its customers can subscribe on an ‘à la carte’ basis.

  • Preliminary assessment. The CIRB carries out an initial diagnosis and gives you a report containing your legal obligations in relation to the GDPR.
  • Assistance with compliance. We can assign a GDPR-trained project manager to assist our customers throughout the whole process of compliance with this European regulation.
  • DPO as a service. The CIRB can assume the role of Data Protection Officer (DPO) for its customers; this function is mandatory for public services.
  • DPO coaching. The CIRB can assist the DPO appointed internally with its customers.
  • Training. The CIRB offers a range of training courses on the theme of GDPR, from a 2-hour conference to a full session lasting several days.

Want to find out more? We have just published a brochure (in French and Dutch) that reviews your obligations as a public service in relation to the GDPR. It has been sent to our customers and can also be downloaded on our website.
