BRIC at NetFutures 2016

NetFutures is an annual event dedicated to digital innovation, organised by the European Commission and entitled ‘Driving growth in the Digital Single Market’.

This year, the event is being held at The Egg in Brussels on 20 and 21 April. Over 1,000 participants are expected. The speakers will include the European Commissioners in charge of the digital single market and the digital economy, numerous CEOs and start-up creators.

Alongside the plenary sessions and official speeches, a series of workshops will look at more specific topics in greater detail.

One of these will be the European bIoTope project which aims to connect platforms for smart objects to one another so as to provide new ‘smart’ services for the general public. The Brussels-Capital Region is a partner in this project through the BRIC.

Our colleague, Yves Thomas, will therefore be attending NetFutures to present the Brussels bIoTope plan, which is part of many initiatives aimed at deploying a Smart City strategy for the Brussels Region.
