the geoportal's welcome page

The geoportal www.geo.irisnet.be contains the official geographic data of numerous Brussels institutions: Bruxelles Environnement, Bruxelles Mobilité, Bruxelles Développement urbain, the Brussels Institute of Statistics and Analysis (BISA), the Brussels Regional Informatics Centre (BRIC), the Brussels public transport company (STIB), etc.
So the new cartographic portal provides public, official and verified information covering the entire Region. To do this, the data produced by the organisations concerned have been harmonised to ensure that they are compatible and can be combined with one another.

What can you do on www.geo.irisnet.be?

The geoportal meets both simple location needs (a building, a cadastral plot, etc.) and more advanced information visualisation needs (speed cameras, Natura 2000 sites, hydrographic network, etc.).
It can be used to easily create and share maps on the basis of the official data available and to use data in individual computing systems via the on-line services. Seventy-seven data sets are currently available in the map creation interface and twenty-four themed maps are available for consultation.

The geoportal www.geo.irisnet.be is part of the implementation of the European INSPIRE directive (INfrastructure for SPatial InfoRmation in the European community).
