Smartcity.brussels: a smart city strategy for the Brussels-Capital Region

Smart.brussels uses the IT levers of a smart city to promote the quality of life in the Brussels-Capital Region.


Developed in the BRIC 2014-2019 White Paper, the smart city strategy revolves around four challenges that respond to key issues for the development of the Region: a connected Region, a sustainable Region, an open Region, a safe Region.

Where are we, where do we want to be?

In practical terms, smartcity.brussels is based on existing achievements and new projects, associated with a series of key indicators and goals that are measured every year.  
For 2014, the start year, the smartcity.brussels indicators attain the following values:
